Mobile wallet basics
What is a mobile wallet pass?
A mobile wallet pass is a digital card that lives in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on a customer's phone. It can be a loyalty card, membership, voucher, coupon or order tracker. Passes sit on the lock screen, update in real time and can receive push notifications, so they become an always-on channel between a brand and its customers.
How do Apple Wallet and Google Wallet loyalty cards work?
The customer taps an Add to Wallet link or scans a QR code, and the card saves to their phone in seconds. From there you can update points, tiers, offers and barcodes on the card and send notifications to the lock screen. At checkout the pass is scanned like any barcode or QR code. Litecard creates, sends and updates these cards from your existing CRM and loyalty data.
Do customers need to download an app?
No. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet come built into iPhone and Android phones, so customers save a pass with one tap and have nothing to install. That removes the biggest drop-off point in loyalty and membership programs, and it lets you reach the customers who would never download your app.
What's the difference between Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes?
Both store loyalty cards, memberships, offers and tickets, and both support barcodes, live updates and notifications. They differ in layout, supported fields and some features. Order tracking, for example, is an Apple Wallet feature. Litecard runs both from the same program, so every customer gets the right version for their phone.
Can wallet passes replace a loyalty app or plastic card?
For most programs, yes. A wallet pass covers the core jobs of a loyalty app: showing the card, checking points, saving offers and receiving notifications, without a download. Brands with an app often run passes alongside it to reach the customers who never install it. Physical cards can carry a QR code that lets members switch to a digital pass.

About Litecard
What is Litecard?
Litecard is a mobile wallet platform that lets brands create, send and update Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes from the tools they already use. Marketing and CRM teams use it to run loyalty cards, memberships, offers, vouchers and order updates in the wallet, with push notifications and reporting built in. Litecard works with brands across ANZ, SEA, the UK and Europe.
What can I build with Litecard?
Four main things:
- Loyalty and membership cards with live points, tiers and member details
- Offers, vouchers and coupons customers save from email, SMS, QR codes or social
- Apple Wallet order tracking with live delivery updates on the lock screen
- Passes made from existing physical cards, tickets or coupons with Walletmaker
Can I send push notifications to wallet passes?
Yes. Notifications appear on the customer's lock screen and can be sent from the Litecard dashboard or triggered from your CRM when something changes, such as a new offer, points balance or tier. Passes can also show location-based notifications near your stores, set up at the template level. Customers don't need your app installed to receive them.
How do customers add a pass to their wallet?
Wherever you already reach them. Litecard creates a unique Add to Wallet link for each customer that you can drop into email, SMS or your CRM journeys. Passes can also be added from a QR code in store, on a printed card or on packaging, from a sign-up form on your website, at the point of sale, or from social posts.
How are wallet passes scanned in store?
Any 2D barcode or QR scanner that reads phone screens can scan a Litecard pass, so most stores can use the scanners they already have. Passes can also use NFC for tap-to-redeem with readers such as the ELATEC TWN4 or Dot Origin VTAP100. POS integrations such as Shopify POS and NewStore connect the scan to the customer's profile.
How do I measure results?
The Litecard dashboard tracks pass usage in real time, and automated email reports keep your team up to date. Because each pass is tied to a customer in your CRM, you can compare purchase frequency, order volume and revenue per customer for wallet users against everyone else.

Integrations
Which platforms does Litecard integrate with?
Litecard connects to the CRM, CDP, loyalty and commerce platforms most brands already run, including Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Klaviyo, Bloomreach, Insider, Dotdigital, Talon. One, Shopify, Shopify POS, Magento, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Cegid, LS Retail, NewStore, Yotpo and Smile.io. Anything else can connect through the Litecard REST API and webhooks. Setup guides are in our docs.
Does Litecard work inside Braze and Klaviyo?
Yes. With the native Braze integration, teams create, update and send notifications to branded wallet passes from inside their Braze journeys. In Klaviyo, the Litecard integration adds a personalised Add to Wallet link to emails and flows such as your welcome series. Either way, the wallet runs as another channel in the journeys you already have.
Does Litecard have an API?
Yes. The Litecard REST API covers pass templates and creating and updating passes, and webhooks send pass events back to your systems. Developer documentation is at api.litecard.io, with quick start and template guides in our docs.

Results and customers
What results do brands get from wallet passes?
Brands using Litecard have seen clear lifts in repeat purchasing. SHEIKE saw a 23% increase in customer purchase frequency, BONDS saw 93% more revenue per customer during wallet campaigns, and Kiehl's saw 25% more orders per campaign. Read the full stories in our case studies.
Who uses Litecard?
Retailers, consumer brands, hospitality groups, sports clubs and membership organisations, from fast-growing brands to global enterprises. Customers include SHEIKE, BONDS and Kiehl's. The common thread is a customer base you want to reach more often without relying on an app or more email.
Is Litecard for small businesses or enterprise?
Both. Smaller brands can turn existing cards, tickets and coupons into wallet passes in seconds with Walletmaker and start on a monthly plan. Enterprise teams get the full platform with CRM and POS integrations, multi-market programs and hands-on implementation support.
Do you work with brands in the UK and Europe?
Yes. Litecard's UK and Europe team is based in London and works with retail, beauty, fashion and consumer brands across the region. Customer data can be hosted in the UK or EU on AWS, and passes work the same way in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet in every market.
Can we run one wallet program across multiple countries?
Yes. Litecard is built for multi-market programs. Enterprise brands usually launch in a first market, then roll out to more countries and use cases on the same platform, with pass templates and customer journeys set up for each market.
05
Pricing and launch
How much does Litecard cost?
Plans start from US$100 per month for smaller brands and from US$1,000 per month for mid-sized programs. Enterprise pricing is a platform subscription plus implementation support, scoped to your markets and integrations, and includes unlimited pass updates and push notifications, API access, integration support and analytics. There's no minimum order quantity. Talk to us for a quote.
How long does it take to launch?
Most programs launch in 2 to 4 weeks. Timing depends mostly on your data and integrations: if you already use a platform we integrate with natively, such as Braze or Klaviyo, most of the setup is configuration rather than development. Enterprise programs then follow three phases: discovery to map your program and data, launch in your first market, then rollout to more markets and use cases.
Do you help us launch?
Yes. Programs start with a done-with-you launch: we help design your passes, map your data, connect your CRM and POS, and plan how customers will add the pass. After launch we help you plan campaigns and measure results against revenue.
06
Security and data
Is Litecard secure?
Litecard runs on AWS infrastructure, and customer data is encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256. Wallet passes only show the fields you choose to put on the card. See our security and data protection page for details.
Where is customer data stored?
Litecard is hosted on AWS and can store your customer data in the AWS region of your choice, so UK, EU, US and Asia Pacific programs can keep data in-region. The default region is Sydney, Australia, and clients with specific requirements can also arrange on-premises or edge cloud configurations. Talk to us about your data residency requirements.
Who owns the customer data?
You do. Your customer and member data stays under your control and responsibility, and Litecard uses it to create and update the passes you send.
Is Litecard a payments company?
No. Litecard is payment-agnostic. Passes sit in the wallet next to customers' bank cards, but Litecard doesn't process payments, and it works alongside whichever payment provider and POS you already use.
What if some customers still want a physical card?
Keep it running. Most brands run physical and digital cards side by side during a transition, and a QR code on the physical card lets members switch to the wallet when they're ready. Once the digital pass is promoted, many members switch because it's always on their phone.
No questions match that search. Ask our team and we'll get back to you.
