About HYPE DC
HYPE DC is part of ASX-listed Accent Group, which operates more than 800 stores, 34 brands and 35 online platforms, including HOKA, Dr. Martens, Skechers and Platypus. The rollout demonstrates Litecard’s ability to support enterprise loyalty within one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest footwear and lifestyle retail ecosystems.
HYPE DC is one of Australia’s leading sneaker retailers, with a strong ecommerce presence and a national network of gallery-inspired stores. Its retail model is built around new releases, limited products and sneaker culture, making speed, access and customer recognition particularly important.
HYPE World is the brand’s membership program. Members receive access to member-only offers, new product information, back-in-stock alerts, early access to key sales, competitions, birthday rewards and personalized experiences. HYPE DC also connects the program with Qantas Frequent Flyer, allowing eligible customers to earn Qantas Points on purchases.
The challenge
HYPE World already gave customers several reasons to become members. The challenge was making those benefits easier to find and use.
Membership information could sit across email, the HYPE DC website and a customer’s online account. In a category driven by fast-moving releases and short promotional windows, customers may not search through previous emails or log into an account when they are standing at the register.
HYPE DC needed a more accessible way for customers to:
- Find their HYPE World membership details
- Identify themselves during an in-store purchase
- Access offers and rewards from their phone
- Move between ecommerce and physical stores
- Receive relevant member communications without relying entirely on email
- Join or retrieve their membership while inside a store
The objective was not to replace Bloomreach, Apparel21 or the existing HYPE World program. It was to make the program more visible and useful across the customer journey.

The solution
Litecard brought HYPE World into Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, giving members a digital loyalty card stored alongside the payment cards and tickets they already use on their phones.
Each member receives a unique HYPE World pass connected to their customer record. The pass provides a convenient way to access membership details and present the relevant identifier in-store.
Litecard sits across HYPE DC’s existing retail technology stack:
Bloomreach manages customer engagement and lifecycle communications.
Apparel21 POS supports the in-store retail environment. Apparel21 is designed specifically for fashion, clothing and footwear retailers, including businesses managing products across retail, ecommerce and wholesale channels.
Litecard turns the member identity into a branded Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass and connects the wallet experience with HYPE DC’s CRM, ecommerce and store journeys.
This gave HYPE DC another customer touchpoint without requiring members to download and maintain a separate mobile application.
An always-on wallet acquisition journey
HYPE DC built wallet adoption into its existing Bloomreach communications rather than treating the pass as a one-off campaign.
When a customer joins the program, a Litecard ID and personalized download link can be created. If the customer has not yet saved the pass, dynamic content can remind them through the welcome automation and future newsletters. Once the pass has been downloaded, the reminder can be removed from the journey.
This is an important part of the implementation. Customers do not all act on the first message they receive. By making the wallet prompt persistent across relevant communications, HYPE DC gives members several natural opportunities to add the card.

Connecting ecommerce and the customer account
The wallet experience was also incorporated into HYPE DC’s website.
Members can access their HYPE World information through the My Account section and download their card directly from the account experience. Embedded forms and wallet download blocks provide a clear route from an existing online identity to a mobile wallet pass.
HYPE DC also maintains a dedicated HYPE World information page explaining the program’s benefits and directing customers to add their membership to their phone wallet. This education layer is valuable because it explains why the customer should download the pass, rather than presenting Apple Wallet and Google Wallet buttons without context.

Turning stores into an acquisition channel
HYPE DC extended the journey into physical retail using branded A5 countertop displays and store-specific QR codes.
Customers can scan the QR code at the register to join HYPE World or retrieve an existing membership. Each store can use an individual QR code connected to UTM tracking, allowing HYPE DC to understand where wallet interest and membership acquisition are being generated.
The QR code can also open a landing page personalized to the store the customer is visiting. This turns a standard sign-up form into a more relevant local experience.
The journey distinguishes between existing members and new customers. Existing members can have their wallet download information sent to them, while new customers can complete the additional details required to create their membership.

Business impact
The Litecard implementation gives HYPE DC a more connected loyalty experience across Bloomreach, ecommerce and Apparel21 POS.
The model is designed to deliver:
- Faster access to HYPE World membership at checkout
- Better discovery of member benefits and rewards
- More opportunities to identify customers during store purchases
- Measurable wallet acquisition by store and channel
- A persistent mobile CRM touchpoint beyond the email inbox
- A consistent member identity across online and physical retail
- Less reliance on customers remembering passwords or searching for previous messages
The wallet pass also gives HYPE DC the foundation to update member information and deliver relevant communications through the mobile wallet as the HYPE World program develops.
Why mobile wallet loyalty matters in sneaker retail
Sneaker retail operates differently from many traditional retail categories. Customer demand is often concentrated around new releases, restocks, limited products and short sale periods.
A loyalty benefit has limited value when the customer cannot find it at the moment of purchase. By placing HYPE World inside Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, HYPE DC makes membership easier to retrieve when a customer is browsing online, entering a store or preparing to check out.
The result is not another disconnected loyalty channel. It is a practical mobile layer across HYPE DC’s existing Bloomreach, ecommerce and Apparel21 environment, helping the retailer turn HYPE World membership into a more visible part of the shopping experience.
